Replacement: shock absorbers – PEUGEOT 207 SW (WK_). Tools you'll need:

                        Wire brush
                      
                        WD-40 spray
                      
                        All-purpose cleaning spray
                      
                        Copper grease 
                      
                        Torque wrench
                      
                        Combination spanner #16
                      
                        Drive socket # 16
                      
                        Drive socket # E16
                      
                        Wheel impact socket #17
                      
                        Ratchet wrench
                      
                        Clip removal tool
                      
                        Hydraulic transmission jack
                      
                        Wheel chock

Replacement: shock absorbers – PEUGEOT 207 SW (WK_). AUTODOC recommends:

Both shock absorbers of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right shock absorbers of the rear suspension.
Please note: all work on the car – PEUGEOT 207 SW (WK_) – should be done with the engine switched off.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Secure the wheels with chocks.

Step 2

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 3

Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.

Step 4

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. PEUGEOT 207 SW (WK_)
Step 5

Remove the wheel.
Step 6

Remove the plastic clips of the wheel arch liner. Use a clip removal tool.
Step 7

Remove the wheel arch cover.
Step 8

Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 9

Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 10

Unscrew the upper fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #16. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 11

Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 12

Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 13

Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #E16. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 14

Remove the fastening bolt.

Replacement: shock absorbers – PEUGEOT 207 SW (WK_). Tip from AUTODOC experts:
To avoid injuries, hold the shock absorber when undoing the fastening bolts.
Step 15

Remove the shock absorber.
Step 16

Clean the shock absorber mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

AUTODOC recommends:
Before installing a new shock absorber you should pump it manually 3-5 times.
Step 17

Place the shock absorber in the wheel arch and fasten it.
Step 18

Install the fastening bolt.

Step 19

Screw in the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #E16. Use a ratchet wrench.

AUTODOC recommends:
PEUGEOT 207 SW (WK_) – To avoid injury, hold the shock absorber while screwing in the fastening bolts.
Step 20

Install the fastening bolt.
Step 21

Screw the upper fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #16. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 22

Raise the hydraulic transmission jack by 10-15 cm.
Step 23

Tighten the top shock absorber fastening. Use a drive socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 60 Nm torque.
Step 24

Treat the shock absorber fasteners. Use copper grease.
Step 25

Tighten the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #E16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 100 Nm torque.
Step 26

Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.

Replacement: shock absorbers – PEUGEOT 207 SW (WK_). Professionals recommend:
Lower the hydraulic transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging assemblies and mechanisms.
Step 27

Install the wheel arch cover to its mounting seat.
Step 28

Reinstall the plastic clips of the wheel arch liner.
Step 29

Treat the shock absorber fasteners. Use copper grease.
Step 30

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 31

Clean the brake disk surface. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 32

Install the wheel.

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts. PEUGEOT 207 SW (WK_)
Step 33

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 34

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 100 Nm torque.
Step 35

Remove the jacks and chocks.
