How to change rear springs / rear coil springs on VW GOLF 6 (5K1) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: coil springs – VW Golf 6. AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: coil springs – VW Golf 6. Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
- Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW Golf 6
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Clean the control arm fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 7Unscrew the fastener connecting the control arm to the rear knuckle. Use a combination spanner #18. Use a drive socket #18. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 8Remove the exhaust system fastener.
- Step 9Make a mark on the crossmember and on the camber adjustment bolt.
- Step 10Unscrew the arm fastening to the beam. Use a combination spanner #18. Use a drive socket #18. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 11Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 12Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 13Lower the hydraulic transmission jack by 10-15 cm.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: coil springs – VW Golf 6. Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
- Step 14Take out the spring.
