Replacement: coil springs – PEUGEOT 308 CC. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: coil springs – PEUGEOT 308 CC. Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. - Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. PEUGEOT 308 CC - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6
Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 7
Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 8
Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #15. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 9
Remove the fastening bolt. - Step 10
Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.Replacement: coil springs – PEUGEOT 308 CC. AUTODOC recommends:Lower the hydraulic transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging assemblies and mechanisms. - Step 11
Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 12
Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 13
Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #15. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 14
Remove the fastening bolt. - Step 15
Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.AUTODOC recommends:PEUGEOT 308 CC – Do not lower the transmission jack sharply to avoid damaging components and mechanisms of the car. - Step 16
Take out the spring.Replacement: coil springs – PEUGEOT 308 CC. Tip:Inspect the rubber mounts of the suspension spring. Replace if necessary. - Step 17
Clean the coil spring mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 18
Install the coil spring together with the rubber mounts into the mounting seats. - Step 19
Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 20
Install the fastening bolt.
