How to change rear springs / rear coil springs on FORD FOCUS 2 (DA) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: coil springs – Ford Focus MK2. Tip from AUTODOC:
- Both coil springs of the front suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the front suspension.
- Please note: all work on the car – Ford Focus MK2 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
- Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Ford Focus MK2
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 7Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 8Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench. Use a tap wrench.AUTODOC recommends:Ford Focus MK2 – To avoid injury, hold the shock absorber while unscrewing the fastening bolts.
- Step 9Clean the fasteners connecting the control arm to the side member. Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 10Unscrew the stabilizer rod fasteners. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a drive socket #15. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 11Make a mark on the crossmember and on the camber adjustment bolt. Use a flat metal-working chisel. Use a hammer.
- Step 12Unscrew the arm fastening to the beam. Use a drive socket #18. Use a combination spanner #19. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 13Unscrew the fastener connecting the control arm to the rear knuckle. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench. Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 14Remove the support from under the rear arm.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: coil springs – Ford Focus MK2. Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
- Step 15Take out the spring. Use a crowbar.
- Step 16Install the spring.
- Step 17Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
