Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.Step 2
Secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 3
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. - Step 4Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 5
Unscrew the wheel bolts.Replacement: brake pads – PEUGEOT 206 SW (2E/K). Tip:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts. - Step 6
Remove the wheel. - Step 7
Remove the retaining springs of the brake pads. Use a crowbar. - Step 8
Remove the brake pad retaining pin. Use round-nose pliers. - Step 9
Clean the brake caliper fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 10
Remove the retainer of the brake pads. Use a crowbar. Use a rubber mallet. - Step 11
Remove the brake pads. Use a crowbar.Replacement: brake pads – PEUGEOT 206 SW (2E/K). Tip from AUTODOC experts:Measure the brake disc thickness. Upon reaching the wear limit the part must be replaced. - Step 12
Treat the brake pads in the area where their surface comes into contact with the brake caliper bracket. Use anti-squeal paste.Replacement: brake pads – PEUGEOT 206 SW (2E/K). AUTODOC recommends:Make sure the disc surface is clean before installing the pads. - Step 13
Install new brake pads.Replacement: brake pads – PEUGEOT 206 SW (2E/K). Tip:Make sure the pads are installed with linings facing the disc.
