Replacement: brake discs – NISSAN INTERSTAR Bus (X70). AUTODOC recommends:
- Replace the brake discs and pads in axle sets, regardless of their condition. This will ensure even braking.
- The procedure for replacing the brake discs and pads is identical for both sides of the same axle.
- All the work should be carried out with the engine switched off.
Replacement: brake discs – NISSAN INTERSTAR Bus (X70). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2
Loosen the brake fluid reservoir cap. - Step 3
If you are going to use a jack, secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 4
Loosen the wheel fasteners. Use a 24 mm wheel impact socket. Use a tommy bar. - Step 5Raise the vehicle.Replacement: brake discs – NISSAN INTERSTAR Bus (X70). Tip:If you are using a jack, make sure the car is parked on a hard, flat surface.Make sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.Step 6
Unscrew the wheel fasteners.Caution!To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the fasteners. - Step 7
Remove the wheel. - Step 8
Clean the brake caliper fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 9
Unscrew the brake caliper fasteners. Use a 19 mm combination spanner. Use a 13 mm socket. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 10
Remove the fastening bolts. - Step 11
Remove the brake caliper. Use a mounting lever.Replacement: brake discs – NISSAN INTERSTAR Bus (X70). AUTODOC experts recommend:Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting it from the brake hose to avoid opening the brake line.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging from the brake hose.Do not press the brake pedal after the caliper has been removed. This may cause the piston to fall out of the caliper bore resulting in the brake fluid leakage and air entering the system. - Step 12
Remove the brake pads. Use a mounting lever. - Step 13
Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 14
Unscrew the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use an 18 mm socket. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 15
Remove the fastening bolts. - Step 16
Remove the brake caliper bracket. - Step 17
Clean the brake disc screw. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 18
Unscrew the brake disc screw. Use a T40 Torx bit. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 19
Remove the screw. - Step 20
Remove the brake disc. - Step 21
Clean the wheel hub surface that is in contact with the brake disc. Use a wire brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 22
Treat the wheel hub surface that is in contact with the brake disc. Use ceramic grease. - Step 23
Install a new brake disc. - Step 24
Install the brake disc screw. - Step 25
Tighten the brake disc screw. Use a T40 Torx bit. Use a torque wrench. Tightening torque: 14 N·m. - Step 26
Clean the brake caliper bracket and check its condition. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.Important!Check the brake caliper guide pins and boots. Clean them. Replace them if necessary. - Step 27
Install the brake caliper bracket.
