AUTODOC recommends:
- Replace the stabiliser links on AUDI ALLROAD (4BH, C5) in pairs.
- The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – AUDI ALLROAD (4BH, C5). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. AUDI ALLROAD (4BH, C5)
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 7Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the control arm. Use a drive socket #15.
- Step 8Clean the fasteners of the stabilizer bush brackets. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 9Unscrew the fasteners of the stabilizer bush brackets. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a drive socket #15.
- Step 10Unscrew the fasteners connecting the stabiliser link to the stabiliser bar. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a drive socket #15. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 11Remove the stabilizer rod.Replacement: anti roll bar links – AUDI ALLROAD (4BH, C5). AUTODOC experts recommend:Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed.
- Step 12Install a new rod, tighten the fasteners. Use a combination spanner #15.
- Step 13Screw the fasteners of the stabilizer bush brackets. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a drive socket #15. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 35 Nm torque.
- Step 14Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
