All the parts you need to replace – Anti Roll Bar Links for Allroad (4BH, C5) and other AUDI models
Replace the stabiliser links on AUDI ALLROAD (4BH, C5) in pairs.
The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – AUDI ALLROAD (4BH, C5). Use the following procedure:
Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 3
Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.
AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. AUDI ALLROAD (4BH, C5)
Step 5
Remove the wheel.
Step 6
Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 7
Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the control arm. Use a drive socket #15.
Step 8
Clean the fasteners of the stabilizer bush brackets. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 9
Unscrew the fasteners of the stabilizer bush brackets. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a drive socket #15.
Step 10
Unscrew the fasteners connecting the stabiliser link to the stabiliser bar. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a drive socket #15. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 11
Remove the stabilizer rod.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – AUDI ALLROAD (4BH, C5). AUTODOC experts recommend:
Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed.
Step 12
Install a new rod, tighten the fasteners. Use a combination spanner #15.
Step 13
Screw the fasteners of the stabilizer bush brackets. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a drive socket #15. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 35 Nm torque.
Step 14
Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 15
Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a drive socket #15. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 55 Nm torque.
Step 16
install the rod fastening to the stabilizer and tighten it. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a drive socket #15. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 55 Nm torque.
Step 17
Remove the support from under the arm.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: anti roll bar links – AUDI ALLROAD (4BH, C5). Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
Step 18
Treat all joints of the stabiliser link. Use copper grease.
Step 19
Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 20
Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: anti roll bar links – AUDI ALLROAD (4BH, C5). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 21
Install the wheel.
AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts. AUDI ALLROAD (4BH, C5)
Step 22
Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 23
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 120 Nm torque.
Step 24
Remove the jacks and chocks.
