How to change ignition coil on VW POLO 4 (9N3) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]
All the parts you need to replace – Ignition Coil for POLO (9N_) and other VW models
Replacement: ignition coil – VW Polo 9N. AUTODOC experts recommend:
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
The replacement procedure is the same for the ignition coils of all cylinders.
Replacement: ignition coil – VW Polo 9N. Use the following procedure:
Step 1
Open the hood.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
Disconnect the breather hose. Raise the positive crankcase ventilation hose.
Step 4
Undo the engine cover screws (4 pieces).
Step 5
Remove the engine cover. Use Torx T30.
Step 6
Undo the plastic locking tabs of the ignition coil connector.
Step 7
Pry up the ignition coil. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 8
Take out the ignition coil from the spark plug well. Use an ignition coil remover.
Step 9
Detach the connector from the ignition coil.
Step 10
Treat the ignition coil tip. Use high-temperature grease.
Step 11
Treat the ignition coil connector with electronic spray. The spray will protect the electrical contacts from corrosion, oxidation, and will reduce the contact resistance.
Step 12
Plug in the ignition coil connector.
Step 13
Install the new ignition coil to the spark plug well. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.
Step 14
Lock the connector.
Step 15
Install the engine cover and secure it. Use Torx T30. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 10 Nm torque.
Step 16
Connect the breather hose.
Step 17
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 18
Close the hood.
