Replacement: ignition coil – VW POLO Coupe (86C, 80). Tip from AUTODOC:
- The replacement procedure is the same for the ignition coils of all cylinders.
- Please note: all work on the car – VW POLO Coupe (86C, 80) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3
Unscrew the ignition coil bracket. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 4
Remove the ignition coil. - Step 5
Disconnect the high voltage wire.Replacement: ignition coil – VW POLO Coupe (86C, 80). AUTODOC recommends:Be careful to avoid damaging spark plug wires. - Step 6
Detach the connector from the ignition coil. - Step 7
Remove the cowl grille seal. - Step 8
Raise up and remove the cowl grille. - Step 9
Install a new ignition coil. - Step 10
Tighten the ignition coil fastening. Use a drive socket #10. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 7 nm torque. - Step 11
Treat the ignition coil connector with electronic spray. The spray will protect the electrical contacts from corrosion, oxidation, and will reduce the contact resistance.
