Replacement: ignition coil – Mini R50, R53. AUTODOC recommends:
- The replacement procedure is the same for the ignition coils of all cylinders.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: ignition coil – Mini R50, R53. Take the following steps:
- Step 1
Open the hood. - Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car. - Step 3
Remove the spark plug wire connectors from the spark plug wells. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coil.Replacement: ignition coil – Mini R50, R53. AUTODOC experts recommend:Be careful to avoid damaging spark plug wires.Remember the sequence of the spark plug wires connectors. - Step 4
Detach the connector from the ignition coil. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 5
Unscrew the ignition coil bracket. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 6
Remove the ignition coil. - Step 7
Treat the ignition coil tips. Use high-temperature grease. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 8
Install a new ignition coil.
