Replacement: glass for wing mirror – VW Golf 5. Tip from AUTODOC:
The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left side mirror glass.
Please note: all work on the car – VW Golf 5 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
Step 1
Tilt the mirror glass out of the housing.
Step 2
Carefully release the mirror glass from its attachment. Use a plastic trim tool.
Step 3
Remove the mirror glass.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: glass for wing mirror – VW Golf 5. Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
Step 4
Detach the mirror heating connectors.
Step 5
Treat the mirror heating connectors. Use dielectric grease.
Step 6
Attach the mirror heating connectors.
Step 7
Install the new mirror glass. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: glass for wing mirror – VW Golf 5. To avoid damaging the part during installation, do not use excessive force.Make sure the mirror glass is positioned correctly. It should be aligned with the locking tabs on the housing.
Step 8
Clean the mirror glass.
Step 9
Switch on the ignition. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.
Step 10
Switch off the ignition.
