How to change door lock VW GOLF 5 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: door lock – VW Golf 5. Tip from AUTODOC:
- The procedure for replacing the locks on the right and left front doors is identical.
- Please note: all work on the car – VW Golf 5 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1
Open the car door. - Step 2
Detach the plastic cover from the edge of the door. Use a plastic trim tool. - Step 3
Unscrew the fastener of the door lock cylinder. Use Torx T20. - Step 4
Remove the door lock cylinder. Use a plastic trim tool. - Step 5
Remove the handle-to-lock cable. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 6
Remove the door handle. - Step 7
Unscrew the door handle bracket. Use Torx T20. - Step 8
Unscrew the fasteners of the outer door panel. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 9
Use the masking tape to prevent plastic and painted parts of the car from being damaged. - Step 10
Unscrew the fasteners of the outer door panel. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 11
Remove the outer door panel.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: door lock – VW Golf 5. Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it. - Step 12
Remove the door opening mechanism. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 13
Remove the protective cover of the door.Replacement: door lock – VW Golf 5. Tip:Do not apply excessive force when removing the part. Otherwise you may damage it. - Step 14
Unscrew the door lock fasteners. Use XZN #6. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 15
Disconnect the door lock. - Step 16
Detach the door lock connector.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: door lock – VW Golf 5. To avoid damaging the part when removing it, do not use excessive force. - Step 17
Detach the door lock actuator cable. - Step 18Remove the door lock.Step 19
Attach the door lock actuator cable. - Step 20
Install the new lock.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: door lock – VW Golf 5. To avoid damaging the part during installation, do not use excessive force. - Step 21
Tighten the door lock fasteners. Use XZN #6. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 21 nm torque. - Step 22
Treat the door lock connector. Use dielectric grease.
