How to change oil filter and engine oil on MERCEDES W124 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: engine oil and filter – Mercedes W124. Tip:
- Replace the oil filter every time when changing motor oil.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
- Please note: all work on the car – Mercedes W124 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1
Open the bonnet. - Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car. - Step 3
Pull up the oil dipstick. - Step 4
Unscrew the oil filler plug. - Step 5
Clean the oil filter housing cap. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 6
Unscrew the fasteners of the oil filter housing cap. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 7
Remove the oil filter housing cap. - Step 8
Take the oil filter out of its housing. - Step 9
Cover the oil filter housing with a microfibre towel to prevent dirt and foreign objects from getting into the system. - Step 10
Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Replacement: engine oil and filter – Mercedes W124. AUTODOC recommends:The vehicle must be on a level surface, but if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point. - Step 11
Put a waste oil container with at least 7 l capacity under the drainage hole. - Step 12
Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 13
Unscrew the drain plug. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 14
Drain the used oil.AUTODOC recommends:Caution! The oil may be hot.Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole. - Step 15
Remove the old seal of the oil filter cap. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 16
Clean the oil filter housing cap. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 17
Install a new oil filter cap seal.Replacement: engine oil and filter – Mercedes W124. AUTODOC experts recommend:Use only new O-rings during installation. - Step 18
Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 19
Screw in the new drainage plug and tighten it. Use a drive socket #13. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 30 Nm torque. - Step 20
Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 21
Lower the car. - Step 22
Remove the microfibre towel from the oil filter housing.
