Replacement: wheel bearing – VW TIGUAN ALLSPACE (BW2). AUTODOC recommends:

Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your VW TIGUAN ALLSPACE (BW2) car.
The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: wheel bearing – VW TIGUAN ALLSPACE (BW2). Take the following steps:

Step 1

Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2

Loosen the wheel hub fastener. Use a drive socket #24. Use a tap wrench.
Step 3

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 4

Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.

Step 5

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

Replacement: wheel bearing – VW TIGUAN ALLSPACE (BW2). Tip:
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts.
Step 6

Remove the wheel.
Step 7

Remove the dust boot caps of the brake caliper guide pins. Use a crowbar.
Step 8

Unscrew the brake caliper fastening. Use HEX No.H7. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 9

Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.
Step 10

Remove the brake caliper.

Replacement: wheel bearing – VW TIGUAN ALLSPACE (BW2). AUTODOC experts recommend:
Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur. Check the brake caliper bracket, brake caliper guide pins and boots. Clean them. Replace, if necessary.
Step 11

Unscrew the brake disc fastening. Use Torx T30.
Step 12

Remove the brake disc.
Step 13

Unscrew the wheel hub axle nut. Use a drive socket #24.
Step 14

Clean all joints of the arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: wheel bearing – VW TIGUAN ALLSPACE (BW2). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.Wear protective goggles.
Step 15

Unscrew the fastener connecting the ball joint to the suspension control arm. Use a drive socket #16. Use a tap wrench.
Step 16

Disconnect the spherical joint from the arm.
Step 17

Remove the drive shaft from the wheel hub.

Replacement: wheel bearing – VW TIGUAN ALLSPACE (BW2). Tip from AUTODOC:
Make sure that the steering knuckle is not released from load.
Step 18

Clean the wheel hub fastener. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 19

Unscrew the hub bearing mounting. Use XZN #12. Use a ratchet wrench. Use a tap wrench.
Step 20

Remove the hub and the bearing together, since they are a sealed unit.
Step 21

Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 22

Install the new wheel hub with a bearing.
Step 23

Tighten the fastener of the wheel hub bearing. Use XZN #12. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 70 nm torque.

Replacement: wheel bearing – VW TIGUAN ALLSPACE (BW2). Tip from AUTODOC experts:
The wheel bearing unit must not tilt on the axle pin.
Step 24

Apply some copper grease to the hub where it contacts the brake disk.
Step 25

Clean the splines of the drive shaft CV joint. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 26

Mount the drive shaft into the wheel hub.
Step 27

Attach the ball joint to the control arm.
Step 28

Tighten the ball joint fastener. Use a drive socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 60 Nm torque.
Step 29

Install and tighten the drive shaft bolt. Use a drive socket #27.
Step 30

Treat the hub where it contacts the brake disk. Use copper grease.
Step 31

Install the brake disc.
Step 32

Tighten the brake disc fastening. Use Torx T30. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 4 Nm torque.
Step 33

Install the brake caliper and fix it. Use HEX No.H7. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 30 Nm torque.
Step 34

Install the dust boot caps of the brake caliper guide pins.
Step 35

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a wire brush. Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 36

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

Replacement: wheel bearing – VW TIGUAN ALLSPACE (BW2). Professionals recommend:
After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 37

Install the wheel.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts on the car. VW TIGUAN ALLSPACE (BW2)
Step 38

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 39

Lower the car.
Step 40

Tighten the bolt connecting the drive shaft to the wheel hub. Use a drive socket #24. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 200 Nm torque.+180°

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Be sure to use new fasteners.
Step 41

Tighten the wheel bolts using a criss-cross pattern. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 120 Nm torque.
Step 42

Remove the jacks and chocks.
