- Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your NISSAN ALMERA TINO (V10) car.
- The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
- Please note: all work on the car – NISSAN ALMERA TINO (V10) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.Step 2Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 3Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
- Step 4Raise the car.Replacement: wheel bearing – NISSAN ALMERA TINO (V10). AUTODOC recommends:If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.Step 5Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. NISSAN ALMERA TINO (V10)
- Step 6Remove the wheel.
- Step 7Clean the fastener of the driveshaft. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 8Remove the cotter pin. Use a crowbar.
- Step 9Install the wheel.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. NISSAN ALMERA TINO (V10)
- Step 10Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
- Step 11Lower the car.
- Step 12Loosen the fastener of the driveshaft. Use a drive socket #32. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 13Raise the car.Replacement: wheel bearing – NISSAN ALMERA TINO (V10). AUTODOC experts recommend:If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.
- Step 14Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. NISSAN ALMERA TINO (V10)
- Step 15Remove the wheel.
- Step 16Unscrew the fastener connecting the drive shaft to the wheel hub. Use a drive socket #32. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 17Remove the fastening nut.
- Step 18Clean the ABS sensor fastener. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 19Unscrew the ABS sensor fastener. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 20Remove the fastening bolt.Step 21Disconnect the ABS sensor. Use a crowbar.
- Step 22Clean the fastener connecting the tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 23Unscrew the end fastening nut to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #22. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 24Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller.
- Step 25Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.
- Step 26Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 27Unscrew the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a drive socket #22. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 28Remove the fastening bolts.
- Step 29Remove the brake caliper together with its bracket.Replacement: wheel bearing – NISSAN ALMERA TINO (V10). AUTODOC recommends:Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur.
- Step 30Remove the brake disc.
- Step 31Clean the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 32Remove the cotter pin that secures the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a crowbar.
- Step 33Loosen the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #22.
- Step 34Clean the fasteners connecting the shock strut to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 35Unscrew the fasteners connecting the suspension strut to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #19. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 36Remove the fastening bolts.
- Step 37Disconnect the steering knuckle from the shock absorber strut.
- Step 38Detach the driveshaft from the steering knuckle.Replacement: wheel bearing – NISSAN ALMERA TINO (V10). Tip:Make sure that the drive shaft is not unloaded (when the car is jacked).
- Step 39Fix the shock absorber strut on the steering knuckle.
- Step 40Install the fastening bolts.Step 41Unscrew the ball joint fastening to the steering knuckle.
- Step 42Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller.
- Step 43Remove the fastening bolts.Step 44Disconnect the steering knuckle from the shock absorber strut.
- Step 45Remove the steering knuckle together with the wheel hub.
- Step 46Clean the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 47Remove the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 48Remove the hub from the steering knuckle. Bush and bearing driver set.
- Step 49Clean the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 50Remove the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 51Press out the wheel hub bearing. Bush and bearing driver set.
- Step 52Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 53Install the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use circlip pliers.
- Step 54Press-fit the new bearing into the steering knuckle. Use a bush and bearing driver set.Replacement: wheel bearing – NISSAN ALMERA TINO (V10). Tip from AUTODOC:Check to make sure the wheel hub bearing is positioned correctly. Avoid its misalignment.
- Step 55Install the wheel hub bearing retaining ring. Use circlip pliers.
- Step 56Dismantle the inner bearing race that is remaining on the hub. Use a bush and bearing driver set. Use a bearing separator.
