Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT CORDOBA (6L2). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right lower control arms.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT CORDOBA (6L2). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. - Step 3Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. SEAT CORDOBA (6L2) - Step 5
Remove the wheel. - Step 6
Unscrew the fasteners of the lower sound insulation. Use a drive socket #12. Use a Phillips screwdriver. - Step 7
Remove the lower sound insulation. - Step 8
Unscrew the fasteners of the ball joint. Use a drive socket #13. Use a tap wrench. - Step 9
Clean all joints of the arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT CORDOBA (6L2). Tip from AUTODOC:After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.Wear protective goggles.Wear a respirator. - Step 10
Unscrew the front arm fastener. Use a combination spanner #18. - Step 11
Support the engine in the oil pan area. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 12
Remove the fastening bolt. Use a crowbar. Use a rubber mallet. - Step 13
Lower the hydraulic transmission jack by 10-15 cm.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT CORDOBA (6L2). Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms. - Step 14
Disconnect the spherical joint from the arm. Use a crowbar. - Step 15
Remove the arm. Use a crowbar. - Step 16
Clean the mounting seats and the thread of the suspension arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 17
Install a new arm. Use a crowbar.Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT CORDOBA (6L2). AUTODOC recommends:During the installation process, use only new bolts and nuts.Do not damage the ball joint cover. - Step 18
Support the engine in the oil pan area. Use a hydraulic transmission jack. - Step 19
Install the front fastener of the arm. - Step 20
Screw the front arm fastener. Use a combination spanner #18.
