Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT ALHAMBRA (7V8, 7V9). Professionals recommend:

The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right lower control arms.
Please note: all work on the car – SEAT ALHAMBRA (7V8, 7V9) – should be done with the engine switched off.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Secure the wheels with chocks.

Step 2

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 3

Raise the car.

Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT ALHAMBRA (7V8, 7V9). AUTODOC recommends:
If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.
Step 4

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. SEAT ALHAMBRA (7V8, 7V9)
Step 5

Remove the wheel.
Step 6

Clean the fastener that connects the suspension arm to the ball joint. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 7

Unscrew the fastener that connects the suspension arm to the ball joint. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 8

Detach the suspension arm from the ball joint. Use a ball joint puller.
Step 9

Clean the fasteners that connect the suspension arm to the subframe. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 10

Support the subframe. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 11

Unscrew the rear fastener of the control arm. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 12

Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 13

Unscrew the front fastener of the control arm. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 14

Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 15

Remove the arm.
Step 16

Clean the suspension arm mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 17

Install a new arm. Use a crowbar.

Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT ALHAMBRA (7V8, 7V9). AUTODOC experts recommend:
During the installation process, use only new bolts and nuts.Do not damage the ball joint cover.
Step 18

Install the fastening bolts.
Step 19

Connect the control arm to the ball joint.
Step 20

Screw in the fastener connecting the suspension arm to the ball joint. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 21

Screw in the rear fastener of the control arm. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 22

Remove the support from under the subframe.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT ALHAMBRA (7V8, 7V9). Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
Step 23

Prop up the steering knuckle. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.

AUTODOC recommends:
For tightening the fasteners correctly, you have to jack up the suspension components to their working position.
Step 24

Tighten the front fastener of the arm. Use a drive socket #21. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 90 Nm torque.+90°
Step 25

Tighten the rear fastener of the control arm. Use a drive socket #21. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 150 Nm torque.+90°
Step 26

Remove the support from under the steering knuckle.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: front lower arm – SEAT ALHAMBRA (7V8, 7V9). Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
Step 27

Tighten the fastener that connects the suspension arm to the ball joint. Use a drive socket #21. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 30 Nm torque.+90°
Step 28

Treat all joints of the arm. Use copper grease.
Step 29

Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a wire brush.
Step 30

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use ceramic grease.
Step 31

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 32

Install the wheel.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts on the car. SEAT ALHAMBRA (7V8, 7V9)
Step 33

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 34

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 170 Nm torque.
Step 35

Remove the jacks and chocks.
