Replacement: front lower arm – MITSUBISHI COLT CZC Convertible (RG). Tools you might need:

                        Wire brush

                        Combination spanner #18
                      
                        Combination spanner #21
                      
                        Drive socket # 13
                      
                        Drive socket # 19
                      
                        Drive socket # 21
                      
                        Wheel impact socket #19
                      
                        Ratchet wrench
                      
                        Torque wrench
                      
                        Crow bar
                      
                        Rubber mallet
                      
                        Ball joint puller
                      
                        Hydraulic transmission jack
                      
                        Wheel chock

Replacement: front lower arm – MITSUBISHI COLT CZC Convertible (RG). Tip from AUTODOC:

The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right lower control arms.
Please note: all work on the car – MITSUBISHI COLT CZC Convertible (RG) – should be done with the engine switched off.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 3

Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.

Step 4

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. MITSUBISHI COLT CZC Convertible (RG)
Step 5

Remove the wheel.
Step 6

Clean the fastener connecting the tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Step 7

Unscrew the end fastening nut to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #19. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 8

Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller.
Step 9

Clean all joints of the stabiliser link. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 10

Unscrew the stabilizer rod fasteners. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 11

Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 12

Remove the stabilizer rod.
Step 13

Clean the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 14

Unscrew the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #18.
Step 15

Disconnect the lower arm from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller. Use a crowbar.
Step 16

Clean the fasteners connecting the control arm to the subframe. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 17

Unscrew the front arm fastener. Use a combination spanner #21. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 18

Remove the front fastener of the control arm.
Step 19

Unscrew the rear fastener connecting the control arm to the subframe. Use a combination spanner #21. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 20

Remove the rear fastener of the control arm.
Step 21

Remove the arm. Use a crowbar.
Step 22

Clean the mounting seats and the thread of the suspension arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 23

Install a new arm. Use a rubber mallet.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: front lower arm – MITSUBISHI COLT CZC Convertible (RG). Use only new bolts and nuts for installation.Do not damage the ball joint cover.
Step 24

Treat the fastening bolts. Use WD-40 spray.

Step 25

Install the rear fastener of the control arm.
Step 26

Install the front fastener of the arm.
Step 27

Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle.
Step 28

Tighten the ball joint fastener. Use a combination spanner #18. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 55 Nm torque.
Step 29

Tighten the front fastener connecting the control arm to the subframe. Use a combination spanner #21. Use a drive socket #21. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 145 Nm torque.
Step 30

Screw the rear arm fastener. Use a combination spanner #21. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 31

Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 32

Tighten the rear fastener of the control arm. Use a combination spanner #21. Use a drive socket #21. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 145 Nm torque.
Step 33

Remove the support from under the arm.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: front lower arm – MITSUBISHI COLT CZC Convertible (RG). Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
Step 34

Ιnstall the transverse stabilizer link. Use a crowbar.
Step 35

Install the fastening bolt.
Step 36

Tighten the stabiliser link fastener. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #13. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 25 Nm torque.
Step 37

Connect the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
Step 38

Tighten the fastening nut connecting the tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 31 nm torque.
Step 39

Treat all joints of the arm. Treat all joints of the stabiliser link. Treat the fastener connecting the tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Use copper grease.
Step 40

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 41

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 42

Install the wheel.

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts. MITSUBISHI COLT CZC Convertible (RG)
Step 43

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 44

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 118 nm torque.
Step 45

Remove the jacks and chocks.
