How to change Front Suspension Arm on MITSUBISHI COLT Z30 TUTORIAL | AUTODOC

Replacement: front lower arm – Mitsubishi Colt Z30. Tip from AUTODOC:
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right lower control arms.
- Please note: all work on the car – Mitsubishi Colt Z30 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
- Step 3Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.
- Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Mitsubishi Colt Z30
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Clean the fastener connecting the tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 7Unscrew the end fastening nut to the steering knuckle. Use a drive socket #19. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 8Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller.
- Step 9Clean all joints of the stabiliser link. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 10Unscrew the stabilizer rod fasteners. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 11Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 12Remove the stabilizer rod.
- Step 13Clean the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 14Unscrew the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #18.
- Step 15Disconnect the lower arm from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller. Use a crowbar.
- Step 16Clean the fasteners connecting the control arm to the subframe. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 17Unscrew the front arm fastener. Use a combination spanner #21. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 18Remove the front fastener of the control arm.
- Step 19Unscrew the rear fastener connecting the control arm to the subframe. Use a combination spanner #21. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 20Remove the rear fastener of the control arm.
- Step 21Remove the arm. Use a crowbar.
- Step 22Clean the mounting seats and the thread of the suspension arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 23Install a new arm. Use a rubber mallet.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: front lower arm – Mitsubishi Colt Z30. Use only new bolts and nuts for installation.Do not damage the ball joint cover.
- Step 24Treat the fastening bolts. Use WD-40 spray.Step 25Install the rear fastener of the control arm.
- Step 26Install the front fastener of the arm.
