Replacement: brake hose – BMW Z4 (E85). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left brake hoses on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: brake hose – BMW Z4 (E85). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.Step 2Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 3Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 4Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 5Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. BMW Z4 (E85)
- Step 6Remove the wheel.
- Step 7Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the brake caliper and to the brake circuit pipe. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.Replacement: brake hose – BMW Z4 (E85). Tip:After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
- Step 8Put a container for gathering brake fluid beneath.
- Step 9Loosen the brake hose fastening. Use a combination spanner #14. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 10Detach the brake hose from the shock strut.
- Step 11Unscrew the fastener connecting the brake hose to the brake circuit pipe. Use a combination spanner #10.
- Step 12Unscrew the brake hose from the brake caliper.
- Step 13Screw the new brake hose onto the brake caliper.
- Step 14Fasten the brake hose on the strut.
- Step 15Screw the brake hose onto the brake circuit pipe.
- Step 16Tighten the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake caliper. Use a combination spanner #14. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 22 Nm torque.
- Step 17Tighten the fastener connecting the brake hose to the brake circuit pipe. Use a combination spanner #10. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 14 Nm torque.
- Step 18Clean the brake hose mounting seat on the brake circuit pipe. Use a brake cleaner.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: brake hose – BMW Z4 (E85). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
