Replacement: brake caliper – RENAULT KOLEOS II. Tip from AUTODOC:
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right brake calipers on the same axle.
- Warning! Shut down the engine before starting any work – RENAULT KOLEOS II
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.
- Step 3Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 4Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
- Step 5Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 6Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. RENAULT KOLEOS II
- Step 7Remove the wheel.
- Step 8Remove the fastener attaching the brake hose to the shock strut. Use a crowbar. Use a hammer.
- Step 9Detach the brake hose from the shock strut.
- Step 10Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the caliper, and the guide pins area. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.Replacement: brake caliper – RENAULT KOLEOS II. Tip from AUTODOC:After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
- Step 11Put a container for gathering brake fluid beneath.
- Step 12Clamp the brake hose off using a brake hose clamp.
- Step 13Unscrew the brake hose from the brake caliper. Use a drive socket #12. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 14Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.
- Step 15Unscrew the brake caliper fastening. Use a drive socket #14. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 16Remove the brake caliper.AUTODOC recommends:When replacing the brake caliper, it is recommended to check the brake hose for damages and, if necessary, to replace it with a new one. When replacing a brake caliper it is recommended to replace brake pads, check the state of the brake discs and replace them with new ones if necessary.
- Step 17Clean the brake caliper bracket from dirt and dust. Use a wire brush. Treat the brake caliper bracket. Use a brake cleaner.Replacement: brake caliper – RENAULT KOLEOS II. Tip:After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
