How to change rear brake caliper on VW GOLF 5 (1K1) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: brake caliper – VW Golf 5. Tip from AUTODOC:
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right brake calipers on the same axle.
- Please note: all work on the car – VW Golf 5 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1
Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap. - Step 2
Secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 3
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17. - Step 4
Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports. - Step 5
Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW Golf 5 - Step 6
Remove the wheel. - Step 7
Clamp the brake hose off using a brake hose clamp. - Step 8
Put a container for gathering brake fluid beneath. - Step 9
Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the caliper, and the guide pins area. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: brake caliper – VW Golf 5. After applying the spray, wait a few minutes. - Step 10
Unscrew the brake hose from the brake caliper. Use a combination spanner #11. - Step 11
Remove the brake hose retaining clip. Use a crowbar. - Step 12
Remove the retaining clip of the parking brake cable. Use a crowbar. - Step 13Disconnect the parking brake cable from the caliper. Use water pump pliers.Step 14
Release the parking brake cable. - Step 15
Unscrew the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake hose. Use a combination spanner #13. - Step 16
Unscrew the brake caliper fastening. Use a combination spanner #13. - Step 17
Remove the brake caliper.Replacement: brake caliper – VW Golf 5. AUTODOC experts recommend:When replacing the brake caliper, it is recommended to check the brake hose for damages and, if necessary, to replace it with a new one. When replacing a brake caliper it is recommended to replace brake pads, check the state of the brake discs and replace them with new ones if necessary.If no new guide pins were supplied in a kit with the new brake calipers, use the old pins. - Step 18
Unscrew the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake caliper. Use a combination spanner #13. - Step 19
Install the brake caliper and fix it.Please note!Hold up the brake caliper. - Step 20
Tighten the brake caliper fasteners. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a drive socket #13. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 35 Nm torque. - Step 21
Treat the brake pipe. Use a brake cleaner.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: brake caliper – VW Golf 5. After applying the spray, wait a few minutes. - Step 22
Screw in the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake caliper. Use a combination spanner #13. - Step 23
Treat the brake hose. Use a brake cleaner.Replacement: brake caliper – VW Golf 5. Professionals recommend:After applying the spray, wait a few minutes. - Step 24
Install the brake hose retaining clip. Use a rubber mallet. - Step 25
Screw in the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake hose. Use a combination spanner #13.
