Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW TOUAREG (7LA, 7L6, 7L7). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Replace the oil filter every time when changing motor oil.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW TOUAREG (7LA, 7L6, 7L7). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Unscrew the oil filler plug.
- Step 4Clean the oil filter. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 5Unscrew the filter housing cap together with the old filter element. Use a drive socket #32. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 6Prepare a container for the old oil filter.
- Step 7Remove the filter element from the filter housing. Put the old filter cartridge in the container.
- Step 8Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW TOUAREG (7LA, 7L6, 7L7). AUTODOC recommends:The vehicle must be on even keel, and if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.All work should be done with the engine stopped.Step 9Undo the fasteners of the oil pan lower cover. Use Torx T25.
- Step 10Remove the oil pan cover.
- Step 11Put a waste oil container with at least 5 l capacity under the drainage hole.
- Step 12Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 13Unscrew the drain plug. Use a combination spanner #19. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 14Drain the used oil.Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW TOUAREG (7LA, 7L6, 7L7). AUTODOC experts recommend:Caution! The oil may be hot.Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole.
- Step 15Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole.
- Step 16Screw in the new drainage plug and tighten it. Use a drive socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 30 Nm torque.
- Step 17Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 18Reinstall the oil pan lower cover.
- Step 19Tighten the fasteners of the oil pan lower cover. Use Torx T25. Use a ratchet wrench.
