How to change oil filter and engine oil on VW TOURAN 1t3 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

AUTODOC recommends:
- Replace the oil filter every time when changing motor oil.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW Touran 1T3. Take the following steps:
- Step 1Open the hood.
- Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
- Step 3Remove the engine cover.AUTODOC recommends:Raise the engine cover, holding it on two sides simultaneously.
- Step 4Unplug the vacuum valve connector.
- Step 5Unscrew the brackets of the vacuum pipes (3 fasteners). Use Torx T30.
- Step 6Clean the oil filter housing cap.
- Step 7Unscrew the filter housing cap together with the old filter element. Use a drive socket #32.
- Step 8Prepare a container for the old oil filter.
- Step 9Unscrew the filter housing cap together with the old filter element. Put the old filter cartridge in the container.
- Step 10Cover the oil filter housing with a clean cloth to prevent dirt and foreign objects from getting into the system.
- Step 11Unscrew the oil filler plug.
- Step 12Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW Touran 1T3. Tip from AUTODOC:The vehicle must be on even keel, and if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.Step 13Put a waste oil container with at least 5 l capacity under the drainage hole.
- Step 14Unscrew the drain plug. Use a drive socket No.19 or ring spanner No.19.
- Step 15Drain the used oil.Replacement: engine oil and filter – VW Touran 1T3. Tip:Caution! The oil may be hot.Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole.
- Step 16Detach the oil filter from the filter cover.Step 17Remove old o-rings from the oil filter cover. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 18Install new O-rings (3 pieces) and a new oil filter to their mounting seats on the filter cover.Please note!Make sure to install the filter correctly. Don't mix up the sides of the part.
- Step 19Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole.
- Step 20Screw in the new drainage plug and tighten it. Use a drive socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 30 Nm torque.
