How to change oil filter and engine oil on VOLVO V50 1 (P12) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: engine oil and filter – Volvo V50 MW. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- Replace the oil filter every time when changing motor oil.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: engine oil and filter – Volvo V50 MW. Use the following procedure:
- Step 1
Open the hood. - Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car. - Step 3
Unscrew the engine cover fastener. Use a drive socket #10. - Step 4
Remove the engine cover.Replacement: engine oil and filter – Volvo V50 MW. AUTODOC recommends:Raise the engine cover, holding it on two sides simultaneously. - Step 5
Unplug the mass air flow sensor connector. - Step 6
Detach the air intake hose clamp. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 7
Detach the crankcase ventilation hose clamp. - Step 8
Remove the crankcase ventilation hose. - Step 9
Detach the air inlet pipe from the turbocharger. - Step 10
Remove the air filter housing retaining spring. - Step 11
Remove the air filter housing. - Step 12
Cover the turbocharger impeller with a microfibre cloth to prevent dirt and foreign objects getting into the system. - Step 13
Unscrew the oil filler plug. - Step 14
Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Replacement: engine oil and filter – Volvo V50 MW. AUTODOC experts recommend:The vehicle must be on even keel, and if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.All work should be done with the engine stopped. - Step 15
Undo the fasteners of the oil pan lower cover. Use a drive socket #10. - Step 16
Remove the oil pan cover. - Step 17
Put a waste oil container with at least 5 l capacity under the drainage hole. - Step 18
Unscrew the drain plug. Use a drive socket #21. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 19
Drain the used oil.Replacement: engine oil and filter – Volvo V50 MW. Tip:Caution! The oil may be hot. - Step 20
Clean the oil filter housing cap. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 21
Unscrew the filter housing cap together with the old filter element. Use a drive socket #27. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 22
Put the old oil filter in the container.Replacement: engine oil and filter – Volvo V50 MW. Tip from AUTODOC experts:Move up the container. The oil starts to drain out of the drainage hole immediately after you have removed the oil filter. - Step 23Cover the oil filter housing with a microfibre towel to prevent dirt and foreign objects from getting into the system.Step 24
Detach the oil filter from the filter cover. - Step 25
Remove the oil filter cover O-ring. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 26
Clean the oil filter housing cap. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 27
Install a new O-ring to its mounting seat on the filter cover. - Step 28
Lubricate the rubber seal of the new filter with a little amount of fresh oil. - Step 29Remove the microfibre towel from the oil filter housing.Step 30
Install the new oil filter to the mounting seat on the filter cover.Please note!Make sure to install the filter correctly. Don't mix up the sides of the part. - Step 31
Screw the new filter into its place. - Step 32
Screw the cap. Use a drive socket #27. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 25 Nm torque. - Step 33
Remove the microfibre cloth from the turbocharger impeller. - Step 34
Install the air filter housing and fasten it. - Step 35
Attach the air inlet pipe to the turbocharger.
