Replacement: engine oil and filter – OPEL MOVANO Platform/Chassis (U9, E9). AUTODOC recommends:

Replace the oil filter every time you change the engine oil.
Before getting down to work, warm up the engine to reduce the viscosity of the oil.
Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
All the work should be carried out with the ignition switched off.

Replacement: engine oil and filter – OPEL MOVANO Platform/Chassis (U9, E9). Recommended sequence of steps:

Step 1

Open the bonnet.

Step 2

Use a fender protection cover to avoid damaging the paintwork and plastic parts of the car.

Step 3

Unscrew the oil filler cap.
Step 4

Pull up the oil dipstick.
Step 5

Lift the vehicle using a vehicle lift or place it over an inspection pit.

Replacement: engine oil and filter – OPEL MOVANO Platform/Chassis (U9, E9). Professionals recommend:
The vehicle must be level, but if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.
Step 6

Put an oil drain pan with a capacity of at least 8 litres under the drain hole.
Step 7

Clean the area of the oil pan drain hole. Use a wire brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 8

Unscrew the drain plug. Use an 8 mm square head drain plug socket. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 9

Drain the used oil.

Caution!
The oil may be hot.Wait until the oil has completely flowed out of the drain hole.
Step 10

Clean the oil filter cap. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 11

Unscrew the filter cap together with the old filter element. Use a 27 mm socket. Use a ratchet wrench.

Caution!
The oil may be hot.
Step 12

Clean the oil filter mounting seat. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 13

Remove the filter element from the filter cap. Remove the old O-ring of the oil filter cap. Use a slotted screwdriver.
Step 14

Clean the oil filter cap. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 15

Install a new O-ring on the oil filter cap. Install a new filter element into the oil filter cap.
Step 16

Lubricate the new O-ring of the oil filter cap with a small amount of fresh oil.
Step 17

Install the oil filter cap and screw it in. Use a 27 mm socket. Use a torque wrench. Tightening torque: 25 N·m.
Step 18

Clean the area of the oil pan drain hole. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 19

Screw in the drain plug and tighten it. Use an 8 mm square head drain plug socket. Use a torque wrench. Tightening torque: 20 N·m.
Step 20

Lower the vehicle.

Step 21

Remove the oil filler cap.
Step 22

Pour oil into the engine through the filler neck. Required amount of oil: 8 L.

Replacement: engine oil and filter – OPEL MOVANO Platform/Chassis (U9, E9). Tip from AUTODOC:
Use the oil recommended by the manufacturer.
Step 23

Check the oil level using the dipstick.

Important!
The oil level should be between the Min and Max marks.Top up oil if necessary.
Step 24

Screw on the oil filler cap.
Step 25

Run the engine for a few minutes.

Replacement: engine oil and filter – OPEL MOVANO Platform/Chassis (U9, E9). AUTODOC experts recommend:
The oil pressure warning light, which indicates insufficient pressure in the lubrication system, may be on for a longer time than usual. After a few seconds, the oil will fill all the passages, and the light will go out.
Step 26

Check the oil level with a dipstick in 5 minutes after turning the engine off and add oil if necessary.

Caution!
The oil level should be between the Min and Max marks.
Step 27

Make sure that the oil filler cap is properly tightened.

Step 28

Check the threaded plug of the drain hole and the oil filter seal for tightness. If necessary, tighten them up carefully.

Step 29

Remove the fender cover.

Step 30

Close the bonnet.

Replacement: engine oil and filter – OPEL MOVANO Platform/Chassis (U9, E9). Tip:
To protect the environment from pollution, be sure to dispose of the used filters and oil at special collection points.
