DIY Opel Zafira repair and maintenance

Engine

A timing chain of 2.2-litre petrol power unit stretches prematurely. Our tips are to inspect the part every time you service your car and replace it as soon as the component wear-out has been detected.
EDC injection pump components burn out. This is caused by the system air lock. We recommend you replace fuel pump seals more often.
Water pump bearing or seal may fail after 70,000 kilometres. Signs of the defective bearing are foreign sounds produced by the unit, while the coolant leakage indicates the seal’s failure. You should replace the pump as soon as possible to avoid the power unit overheating. Body

Paintwork on the rear doors, wheel arches, door sills, front and rear fenders peels off. Treat these areas with a special anti-corrosion product. Moreover, you can apply a transparent protection film to the body elements yourself.

Suspension
