Replacement: engine oil and filter – Opel Corsa D. AUTODOC recommends:
Replace the oil filter every time when changing motor oil.
Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: engine oil and filter – Opel Corsa D. Use the following procedure:
Step 1
Open the hood.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
Remove the engine cover.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: engine oil and filter – Opel Corsa D. Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
Step 4
Unscrew the oil filler plug.
Step 5
Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.
AUTODOC recommends:
The vehicle must be on even keel, and if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Step 6
Put a waste oil container with at least 4 l capacity under the drainage hole.
Step 7
Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 8
Unscrew the drain plug. Use Torx T45. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 9
Drain the used oil.
Replacement: engine oil and filter – Opel Corsa D. Tip:
Caution! The oil may be hot.
Step 10
Detach the air intake hose clamp. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 11
Disconnect the air intake pipe fastening. Use Torx T25. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 12
Remove the air intake pipe.
Step 13
Cover the air intake hose with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
Step 14
Undo the screws of the protective case of the oil filter housing. Use Torx T25. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 15
Remove the protective case of the oil filter housing.
Step 16
Clean the oil filter housing cap. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 17
Unscrew the filter housing cap together with the old filter element. Use a drive socket #27. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 18
Put the old oil filter in the container.
Replacement: engine oil and filter – Opel Corsa D. Professionals recommend:
Move up the container. The oil starts to drain out of the drainage hole immediately after you have removed the oil filter.
Step 19
Cover the oil filter housing with a microfibre towel to prevent dirt and foreign objects from getting into the system.
Step 20
Detach the oil filter from the filter cover.
Step 21
Remove the oil filter cover O-ring. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 22
Clean the oil filter housing cap. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 23
Install a new O-ring to its mounting seat on the filter cover.
Step 24
Install the new oil filter to the mounting seat on the filter cover.
Please note!
Make sure to install the filter correctly. Don't mix up the sides of the part.
Step 25
Lubricate the rubber seal of the new filter with a little amount of fresh oil.
Step 26
Remove the microfibre towel from the oil filter housing.
Step 27
Install a new oil filter housing cover and tighten it. Use a drive socket #27. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 25 Nm torque.
Step 28
Install the protective case of the oil filter housing.
Step 29
Screw in the fasteners of the protective case of the oil filter housing. Use Torx T25. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Replacement: engine oil and filter – Opel Corsa D. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole.
Step 30
Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole.
Step 31
Screw in the new drainage plug and tighten it. Use Torx T45. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 20 Nm torque.
Step 32
Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 33
Lower the car.
Step 34
Remove the microfibre towel from the air intake hose.
Step 35
Install the air intake pipe and secure it.
Step 36
Fasten the clamp on the air intake hose. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 37
Screw in the fastener of the air intake pipe. Use Torx T25.
Step 38
Remove the oil filler cap.
Step 39
Insert the funnel.
Step 40
Pour oil into the engine through the filler. Required amount of oil: 3.5 l.
AUTODOC recommends:
Use the oil recommended by the manufacturer.
Step 41
Check the oil level using the dipstick. Top up oil if necessary.
Please note!
The oil level should be between the Min and Max marks.
Step 42
Install the oil filler cap.
Step 43
Tighten the oil filler cap.
Step 44
Run the engine for a few minutes. After the oil pressure warning light goes out, stop the engine.
Step 45
Check the oil level 5 minutes after the stop of the engine operation using a dipstick and add oil if necessary.
Please note!
The oil level should be between the Min and Max marks.Make sure that the oil filler cap is properly tightened.Check the threaded plug of the drainage hole and the oil filter seal for tightness. If necessary, carefully tighten them up.
Step 46
Install the engine cover and secure it.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: engine oil and filter – Opel Corsa D. Do not use excessive force during installation. This may damage the fasteners.Make sure the engine cover is properly seated. It should not be displaced with respect to the guiding fasteners.
Step 47
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 48
Close the hood.
Replacement: engine oil and filter – Opel Corsa D. AUTODOC recommends:
Note that oil pressure warning light, which indicates insufficient pressure in the lubrication system, may be on for a longer time than usual. After a few seconds, the oil will fill all the channels, and the light will go out. To protect the environment from pollution, be sure to dispose of the used filters at special collection points.
