Replacement: engine oil and filter – NISSAN SENTRA (B17). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Replace the oil filter every time when changing motor oil.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2
Remove the oil filler cap. - Step 3
Pour the engine flush in. - Step 4
Install the oil filler cap. - Step 5Start the engine, let it run for 15 minutes, and then stop it.Step 6Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.AUTODOC recommends:The vehicle must be on even keel, and if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.Step 7
Undo the fasteners of the oil pan lower cover. - Step 8
Remove the oil pan cover. Use a drive socket #10. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 9Put a waste oil container with at least 5 l capacity under the drainage hole.Step 10
Unscrew the drain plug. Use a drive socket no.19 Or ring spanner no.19. - Step 11
Drain the used oil.Replacement: engine oil and filter – NISSAN SENTRA (B17). Professionals recommend:Caution! The oil may be hot.Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole. - Step 12Move the container under the oil filter.Step 13
Unscrew the oil filter. Use the 65/67-14f socket. - Step 14
Remove the oil filter. Prepare a container for the old oil filter. Put the old oil filter in the container.AUTODOC recommends:Move up the container. The oil starts to drain out of the drainage hole immediately after you have removed the oil filter. - Step 15
Clean the oil filter seat. - Step 16
Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole.
