Replacement: engine oil and filter – AUDI A8 (4H_). Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- Replace the oil filter every time when changing motor oil.
- Wear gloves to prevent contact with hot liquid.
- Please note: all work on the car – AUDI A8 (4H_) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Remove the engine cover.AUTODOC recommends:Raise the engine cover, holding it on two sides simultaneously.Replacement: engine oil and filter – AUDI A8 (4H_). Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
- Step 4Unscrew the oil filler plug.
- Step 5Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Replacement: engine oil and filter – AUDI A8 (4H_). Professionals recommend:The vehicle must be on even keel, and if it is at an angle, the drain plug must be at the lowest point.All work should be done with the engine stopped.Step 6Put a waste oil container with at least 5 l capacity under the drainage hole.
- Step 7Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 8Unscrew the drain plug. Use Torx T45. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 9Drain the used oil.Replacement: engine oil and filter – AUDI A8 (4H_). AUTODOC recommends:Caution! The oil may be hot.Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole.
- Step 10Clean the oil filter housing cap. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 11Unscrew the oil filter. Use the 76-14F socket. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 12Remove the oil filter. Put the old oil filter in the container.Replacement: engine oil and filter – AUDI A8 (4H_). Tip:Move up the container. The oil starts to drain out of the drainage hole immediately after you have removed the oil filter.
- Step 13Clean the oil filter seat.
- Step 14Lubricate the rubber seal of the new filter with a little amount of fresh oil.
- Step 15Install a new oil filter.
- Step 16Screw the new filter into its place. Use the 76-14F socket. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 18 Nm torque.
- Step 17Install the engine cover and secure it.AUTODOC recommends:Make sure the engine cover is properly seated. It should not be displaced with respect to the guiding fasteners.Replacement: engine oil and filter – AUDI A8 (4H_). Do not use excessive force during installation. This may damage the fasteners.
- Step 18Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole.
