engine light on SKODA Roomster (5J) (03.2006 - 05.2015)

Error code 0001 (P0001) indicates an open circuit in the fuel metering valve (N290). However, the Roomster 1.9 TDI engine doesn't have a common rail system with such a valve—it uses unit injectors, so this error is often a result of a misreading error in the universal scanner. Most often, the real problem lies in a chafed engine wiring harness (usually under the battery or near the starter) or an open circuit in the booster pump/tandem pump control circuit.
