Please can anyone help, I have tried everywhere and cannot find an answer!

Can my 05 Daihatsu Extol van run on the new E10 petrol?

Many thanks.

Your 2005 Daihatsu Extol van is likely not officially listed as compatible with E10 petrol based on available manufacturer alignment information. Most Daihatsu models approved for E10 use are from 2008 onwards or later.

    What this means:
    - Since your van predates the general compatible model year cut-off, it may have components not designed for the higher ethanol content in E10 petrol.
    - Using E10 in non-compatible vehicles can potentially cause fuel system issues, such as rubber or plastic degradation, fuel filter clogging, or engine performance problems.
    - It is generally recommended to use petrol with lower ethanol content (E5 or lower) for your 2005 Daihatsu Extol to avoid risks.

    Recommended actions:
    - Contact a Daihatsu dealer or authorized service center to confirm E10 compatibility for your specific van.
    - If uncertain, use E5 petrol or unmarked petrol without ethanol to be safe.
    - Monitor the vehicle closely for any warning signs like rough running or fuel system issues if you do use E10.

In summary, your 2005 Daihatsu Extol van is likely not compatible with E10 petrol and it is safer to avoid it to prevent potential fuel system problems.
