Mate the fuel filter on your 09 Terios is inside the fuel tank. Its part of the fuel pump assembly, so you wont find it under the car like on older models. Bit of a pain honestly because you need to drop the tank to get to it

@Oliver Jones yeahh had the same issue when I was looking for mine, spent ages under the car lol. The pump module has a filter screen built in, saved me when I found out through a mate whos a Terios owner too

@Oliver Jones on the long wheelbase J2 they integrated it into the pump unit inside tank. If youre having fuel pressure issues though check the external inline filter some models have near the engine bay first, mine had one there

I removed my tank last year for another issue and saw the filter setup - definitely not a quick job compared to old style screw clamp filters underneath! You need to lift the rear seat to access the pump cover on some versions

@IsaWill exactly, rear seat comes up and theres an access panel. Saved me from dropping the whole tank when I replaced my pump. Still awkward position to work in but way better than the full tank removal

honestly if the cars running fine I wouldnt bother, these filters last ages. My Terios has 180k km and never touched it, just use decent fuel

@aVa.Daies... I'm with you on that one. Only reason to go in there is if you're getting fuel starvation or pump whine. The filter mesh is pretty robust on these 3SZ-VE engines

@Harry.B wait which year models have the external filter?? I thought all J2 facelifts from 06 onwards had in-tank only

@ruby___c. youre probably right, mine was an early J2 from 05 so had the inline type. The 09 like @Efas has should be all in-tank setup
