General Steps:
- Open and prop up your car’s bonnet (hood).
- Locate the sidelight assembly. This is often part of, or adjacent to, the main headlight cluster.
- Remove any plastic covering or back cover from the headlight assembly to access the bulb. Some covers may be clipped or screwed in place.
- Disconnect the power connector from the back of the assembly if necessary.
- Remove the dust cover, if present.
- Locate the sidelight bulb holder. It may be held in place with a clip or by twisting counterclockwise.
- Gently pull the bulb holder out of the assembly.
- Remove the old bulb by pulling it straight out from the holder. Avoid twisting unless the design requires it.
- Compare the old bulb with the new one to ensure compatibility before installing.
- Insert the new bulb into the holder, being careful not to touch the glass part with your fingers (use a tissue or gloves to avoid oil residue).
- Reinsert the bulb holder into the assembly, twisting or clipping it back into place.
- Replace any dust covers, power connectors, and plastic covers you removed earlier.
- Close the bonnet and test the new sidelight bulb to ensure it works. - @FWB04.06.2025 14:22MemberTips and Additional Notes
- The procedure may vary slightly depending on your car's make and model. Some vehicles require removing additional components (like the air filter box or battery) for better access.
- On some cars, access may be tight. Take your time and refer to your owner’s manual for specific instructions related to your model.
- If the bulb does not light up after installation, double-check the fitting and the electrical connector.
This general process applies to most vehicles, but always refer to your car’s manual for model-specific guidance.
