I have a Clio 4 model 2015 and the start stop function has stopped working. Can any assist with some info why this might be.
@Stold194522.03.2021 15:35MemberThere are reasons why the start-stop system does not work:1) Low battery2) The engine must be warmed up to operating temperature3) the problem may be if the driver is not wearing, and the indicator on the dashboard is on4) does not work when heated seats and mirrorsThese are simple reasons for start-stop failure.- @tom_smith28.05.2025 09:50MemberBrilliant explanation there! I've had similar issues with my 2016 Clio, and it turned out to be a dud battery. Replaced it, and Bob's your uncle - start-stop working like a charm again. One thing to add, though: if you're getting the "check stop and start" message on your dash, it might be worth checking your alternator too. Mine was on its last legs and wasn't charging the battery properly. Got that sorted, and now my Clio's purring like a kitten at traffic lights. Just don't forget to give it a good run every now and then to keep everything ticking over nicely!

Had a right mare with my Clio 3 not starting, turns out a fuse for the start-stop system had blown. Easy fix, but took me ages to figure it out. Also, if your indicators aren't working, it might be related. These Renaults love to keep us on our toes, don't they? It's like they're playing a game of "Guess what's wrong with me now?" Still, wouldn't trade my little French fancy for the world!

If you're having trouble with your Renault Clio check stop and start reset, try this little trick: disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes, then reconnect it. It's like giving your car a swift kick up the backside - sometimes that's all it needs to sort itself out. Just make sure you've got your radio code handy, or you'll be driving in silence like it's 1992 all over again. And remember, if all else fails, there's always the trusty "turn it off and on again" method. Works for computers, might as well give it a go with your Clio!
