Had exact same issue mate on my '06 CC! Rear window would go down bit by bit but struggled coming back up. Turned out to be the window module getting wet - they're notorious for water ingress on these models. Took about an hour to sort, had to pull out the back seats to get to it.

@user_14859 I'd check the connector plug first before stripping everything down. When mine acted up, I just unplugged the door connector (you can see it when door's open), gave it a good spray with WD40 and plugged it back - worked like a charm. Sometimes it's the simple fixes innit 😅

Window regulator mechanism is probably knackered. My neighbour's Megane CC had the cables snap inside - really common fault on the rear quarters. He ordered a repair kit online for about 50 quid rather than paying Renault prices, fitted it himself in his driveway.

Does it make any clicking or grinding noises when you try to operate it? That's usually the regulator cables breaking. The mechanism's not too difficult to replace if you're handy with tools - just need 10mm, 12mm and 17mm sockets plus some torx bits.

@perry_29 Yep, definitely sounds like regulator. I helped a mate change his last summer, took us maybe 45 minutes once we figured out how to get the side panel off. The ceiling trim comes away easy enough with those little plastic clips, just don't snap them!

@user_14859 Before you spend money, try the recalibration procedure first. Park on level ground, ignition on, hold the window button down for 5 seconds after it stops, then up for 5 seconds. Sometimes the ECU just needs resetting.

I'd avoid leaving it too long if window's stuck down - rainwater will get into that module and make things worse. Cover it with something waterproof until you get it sorted. Friend of mine ignored his for weeks and ended up with mouldy rear seats 🙄

@iMartin.8 Good shout on the WD40 trick! I actually used contact cleaner on mine which worked even better for the electrical connections. Those connectors corrode really easily, especially if you've had any roof drain blockages.

If it is the regulator mechanism that's gone, don't overtighten those 10mm bolts when you put it back together - you can actually crack the glass if you're too heavy handed. Learned that the hard way on my old Scenic 😬

@Amelia_Parker The modules can sometimes be refurbished for way less than buying new ones from Renault. There's places that repair them specifically because water damage is so common on the CC models. Worth looking into before shelling out for OEM parts.

@MaxBell I tried that recalibration thing when mine started playing up but didn't help unfortunately. Still, worth a shot as it literally costs nothing to try! Make sure battery's fully charged before attempting it though.
