Hello! Trying to decide between a compact and a midsize sedan, specifically looking at something like a Honda Civic vs. an Accord. Is there a decent online chart or tool that compares sizes properly? It’s hard to tell just from pics! Any help appreciated.

For the 2025 models, the Civic sedan has an overall length of about 184 inches, a width of 70.9 inches, and a wheelbase (the distance between the front and rear axles) of 107.7 inches. The Accord, being larger, comes in at around 195.7 inches long, 73.3 inches wide, and a wheelbase of 111.4 inches. Height-wise, they’re pretty close, with the Civic at 55.7 inches and the Accord at 57.1 inches, so the real difference is in length slope and width.

When comparing compact and midsize sedans like the Honda Civic and Accord, there are indeed several resources that provide detailed size comparisons to help you make an informed decision.

The Honda Civic and Accord represent two different size categories, with the Civic being a compact sedan and the Accord a midsize sedan. This difference in classification translates to noticeable dimensional variations that might affect your driving experience and comfort.

    Dimensional Comparisons

Several dealership websites offer detailed comparison charts between these models. For example, Muller Honda provides a comprehensive side-by-side comparison of the 2023 Honda Accord and Civic dimensions:

    Honda Accord Dimensions:
    - Wheelbase: 111.4 inches
    - Length: 195.7 inches
    - Width: 73.3 inches
    - Height: 57.1 inches

    Honda Civic Dimensions:
    - Wheelbase: 107.7 inches
    - Length: 184 inches
    - Width: 70.9 inches
    - Height: 55.7 inches

DarCars Honda offers an even more detailed comparison table for the 2025 models that includes interior measurements:

    Measurement | 2025 Honda Accord | 2025 Honda Civic
    Length | 195.7 in | 184 in
    Width | 73.3 in | 70.9 in
    Height | 57.1 in | 55.7 in
    Legroom (Front/Rear) | 42.3 in / 40.8 in | 42.3 in / 37.4 in
    Shoulder Room (Front/Rear) | 57.9 in / 56.5 in | 57 in / 56 in
    Hip Room (Front/Rear) | 55.4 in / 55.4 in | 54.3 in / 48.9 in
Cargo Space | 16.7 cu ft | 14.8 cu ft

    Online Comparison Tools

Edmunds offers a car comparison tool specifically for the Honda Accord vs. Honda Civic that allows you to compare prices, options, features, and dimensions. This interactive tool can help you visualize the differences better than static images.

    Interior Space Differences

The size difference also affects interior space. The Accord offers up to 105.7 cubic feet of passenger volume compared to the Civic's 99 cubic feet. For cargo, the Accord provides 16.7 cubic feet of trunk space versus the Civic's 14.8 cubic feet.

The rear legroom is where you'll notice one of the biggest differences - the Accord offers 40.8 inches while the Civic provides 37.4 inches. This could be significant if you regularly transport adult passengers in the back seat.

These comparison resources should give you a much better understanding of the size differences than pictures alone. I'd recommend visiting dealership websites like those mentioned above or using Edmunds' comparison tool to get the detailed specifications you're looking for.
