Hey folks, I’m thinking about getting an Audi Q7 but I’ve heard some years aren’t great. Which specific models or years should I definitely steer clear of? Cheers!

You should definitely steer clear of the following Audi Q7 model years due to their poor reliability and numerous reported issues:

    - 2007: High number of mechanical and electrical problems.
    - 2015: Notably problematic with infotainment and minor electrical faults.
    - 2017: Considered the worst year, plagued by serious engine issues including excessive oil leaks and even sudden engine breakdowns.
    - 2018 and 2019: Known for engine problems, leaks, catalytic converter failures, suspension and steering issues, plus high repair costs.
    - 2021: Suffers from electrical system faults, infotainment glitches, fuel system problems, and multiple recalls affecting safety and reliability.

Among these, the 2017 model stands out as the least reliable, especially due to engine failures and oil consumption problems reported by many owners and professional reviews. The 2019 and 2021 models also have high repair costs and frequent unscheduled repairs.

If you want to avoid excessive maintenance and reliability headaches, it’s best to avoid these years altogether. Instead, consider Audi Q7 models from other years that have a better track record for dependability and fewer major issues.
