I recently bought 320x 30 mm disc for audi a4 2012 model and garage mechanic said they were too big.
Please hasany one come across the same issue as this size was one of the recommended size in auto doc website.
Regards

My 2012 A4 2.0 TDI came with 314mm discs from factory, tried fitting 320s and they wouldnt clear the caliper properly. Check your VIN or PR codes to see what brake setup you actually have
- @Emily.B.Online27.11.2025 15:17Member@P. J. Yeah this happens a lot with A4 B8s, theres like 3 different front disc sizes depending on the engine and trim level. Standard models usually have 314mm or even 300mm discs. Did you check which PR number your car has? That tells you the exact brake system fitted from factory
- @jack.t27.11.2025 16:02MemberI feel your pain, bought 320mm discs once and had to return them because my 2011 A4 had the 314x25mm setup instead. Most 2.0 engines have the smaller discs unless its the quattro version
- @OD2327.11.2025 16:17Member@P. J. AUTODOC lists multiple sizes because A4 2012 came with different brake configs - 300, 314, 320mm options exist. The website shows all compatible sizes for that model year but doesnt know YOUR specific car's setup. Need to measure your old discs or check the PR code sticker in the boot
- @sophie_j27.11.2025 16:40Membermy neighbour had this issue too, turned out his A4 needed 314mm not 320mm. The 320x30 is typically for sportier trims with bigger calipers. Really annoying when you order the wrong size tho :/
- @grace.rob.1227.11.2025 17:12Member@P. J. Happened to my brother last year lol. He measured the old disc before ordering the new ones and it was 314mm diameter. The 320mm ones are for S-line or cars with upgraded brake package
- @Charlie 🍫27.11.2025 17:21MemberYep seen this before, A4 B8 has sooo many brake variants its confusing. Standard petrol/diesel = 314mm front, performance models = 320mm or bigger. Always best to physically measure the old disc diameter before ordering
- @joshua_clark27.11.2025 17:37Member@liam.o.conn +1 on checking PR codes, saved me from making same mistake. My 2012 A4 has 1LT code which means 314mm front discs. The 320x30 setup needs different calipers altogether so they wont fit standard cars
