A5 Bonnet switch and oil level issue
AUDI A5 Sportback (8TA)

    Hi Guys,

I’m having an issue with my trusty A5. (2.0 TFSI 2010)
A5.i noticed my oil level had dropped slightly so topped it up. It didn’t register on the dash oil level, so put in a bit more and still no change.
After some research I learned that the ECU needs to see the bonnet open before it will register a change in level.
On checking, sure enough my car doesn’t recognise that the bonnet is open

I’ve checked the bonnet switch and it seems to be working (short circuit with bonnet open, open circuit with bonnet closed).
I tried the paper clip trick car side and still it doesn’t see the bonnet open.
Next i checked the voltages at the bonnet switch car side connector. Brown wire i assume is ground? On the green wire I have only 1.3V to ground, is this normal?
I’m worried now that I have over filled it with oil.
    what could be the problem?
Any help would be very much apreciated.

    TIA
