Replacement: windscreen wiper arm – VW JETTA III (1K2). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Replace the wiper arms in pairs.
- Don't mix up the wiper arms on the driver's and passenger's side.
- The replacement procedure is the same for both wiper arms.
- Please note: all work on the car – VW JETTA III (1K2) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Remove the windscreen wiper arm nut covers. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 4Clean the fasteners of the wiper arms. Use a wire brush. Use WD-30 spray.
- Step 5Unscrew the fasteners of the windscreen wiper arms. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 6Remove the wiper arms. Use a universal puller.
- Step 7Remove the wiper blades.
- Step 8Clean the pivots of the windscreen wiper arms. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Step 9Treat the pivots of the windscreen wiper arms. Use copper grease.
- Step 10Attach the wiper blades to the new arms.
- Step 11Reinstall the wiper arms.Replacement: windscreen wiper arm – VW JETTA III (1K2). Tip from AUTODOC experts:Make sure not to mix up the wiper arms on the driver's and passenger's sides.
- Step 12Tighten the wiper arm fasteners. Use a drive socket #13. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 16 Nm torque.
- Step 13Treat the wiper arm fasteners. Use copper grease.
- Step 14Install the nut covers of the windscreen wiper arms.
- Step 15Remove the cap of the rear wiper arm fastener.
- Step 16Clean the rear wiper arm fastener. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 17Unscrew the rear wiper arm fastener. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
