Replacement: spark plugs – VAUXHALL AGILA Mk I (A). AUTODOC recommends:
- The replacement procedure is the same for all spark plugs.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: spark plugs – VAUXHALL AGILA Mk I (A). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Unscrew the fasteners of the air distribution housing assembly. Use Torx T20.
- Step 4Remove the air distribution housing assembly.
- Step 5Unscrew the engine cover fastener. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 6Unscrew the oil filler plug.
- Step 7Remove the oil filler cap.Step 8Cover the oil filler opening with a microfibre towel to prevent dirt and foreign objects from getting into the system.
- Step 9Remove the engine cover.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: spark plugs – VAUXHALL AGILA Mk I (A). Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
- Step 10Remove the microfibre towel from the oil filler opening.
- Step 11Install the oil filler cap.
- Step 12Clean the ignition coil bolts.
- Step 13Detach the connector from the ignition coil. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 14Unscrew the ignition coil bolts. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 15Pry up the ignition coil. Use a crowbar.
- Step 16Take out the ignition coil from the spark plug well.
- Step 17Clean dirt, dust and debris from inside the spark plug wells.
- Step 18Unscrew the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 19Take out the spark plugs.
- Step 20Apply a thin layer of a special high temperature anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs.
- Step 21Install the new spark plugs into their mounting seats.
- Step 22Screw new spark plugs and tighten them. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 24 nm torque.Replacement: spark plugs – VAUXHALL AGILA Mk I (A). Professionals recommend:Don't tighten the plugs with excessive force. Exceeding tightening torque can damage the thread connection. Be careful when working with a spark plug wrench. Its skewing can cause damage to the threaded connection.
- Step 23Install the ignition coil to the spark plug well. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.
