Replacement: serpentine belt – VW EOS (1F7, 1F8). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 4Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.Step 5Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Step 6Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. VW EOS (1F7, 1F8)Step 7Remove the wheel.Step 8Pull aside the V-ribbed belt tensioner pulley. Use a combination spanner #16.
- Step 9Remove the V-ribbed belt.
- Step 10Return the tensioner pulley to its initial position. Use a combination spanner #16.Replacement: serpentine belt – VW EOS (1F7, 1F8). Professionals recommend:Check the condition of the tensioner pulley and idler pulley. Replace them if necessary.Step 11Pull aside the V-ribbed belt tensioner pulley. Use a combination spanner #16.Step 12Install the V-ribbed belt.Replacement: serpentine belt – VW EOS (1F7, 1F8). Tip:Make sure that the V-ribbed belt fits all pulleys snugly.
