Replacement: serpentine belt – Audi A6 C5 Avant. AUTODOC recommends:
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: serpentine belt – Audi A6 C5 Avant. Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Open the hood.
- Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
- Step 3Unscrew the fasteners of the air distribution housing assembly. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
- Step 4Remove the air distribution housing assembly.
- Step 5Unscrew the engine cover fastener. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 6Remove the engine cover.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: serpentine belt – Audi A6 C5 Avant. Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
- Step 7Pull aside the V-ribbed belt tensioner pulley. Use a combination spanner #17.
- Step 8Remove the V-ribbed belt.Replacement: serpentine belt – Audi A6 C5 Avant. Tip from AUTODOC:Check the condition of the tensioner pulley and idler pulley. Replace them if necessary.
- Step 9Return the tensioner pulley to its initial position.Step 10Install the V-ribbed belt.
- Step 11Pull aside the V-ribbed belt tensioner pulley. Use a combination spanner #17.
- Step 12Place the serpentine belt on the crankshaft pulley.Replacement: serpentine belt – Audi A6 C5 Avant. Tip:Make sure that the V-ribbed belt fits all pulleys snugly. Make sure that the V-ribbed belt is properly tensioned.
