Replacement: wheel bearing – SEAT CORDOBA (6K2). AUTODOC recommends:
- Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your SEAT CORDOBA (6K2) car.
- The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
- Please note: all work on the car – SEAT CORDOBA (6K2) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.Replacement: wheel bearing – SEAT CORDOBA (6K2). Tip:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts.
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Clean the brake drum. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 7Unscrew the brake drum fastening. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
- Step 8Remove the brake drum.Replacement: wheel bearing – SEAT CORDOBA (6K2). AUTODOC experts recommend:Examine the brake drum. Replace it if necessary.
- Step 9Remove the hub bearing protection cap. Use a hammer. Use a crowbar.Replacement: wheel bearing – SEAT CORDOBA (6K2). Tip from AUTODOC:Some cars are not equipped with wheel hub caps.
- Step 10Unscrew the wheel hub axle nut. Use drive 12-point socket #30. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 11Remove the hub and the bearing together, since they are a sealed unit.
- Step 12Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 13Install the new wheel hub with a bearing.
- Step 14Tighten the hub. Use drive 12-point socket #30. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 175 nm torque.Replacement: wheel bearing – SEAT CORDOBA (6K2). Professionals recommend:The wheel bearing unit must not tilt on the axle pin.
