Replacement: wheel bearing – NISSAN INTERSTAR Platform/Chassis. AUTODOC recommends:
- Do not re-use the bearing assembly you removed from your NISSAN INTERSTAR Platform/Chassis car.
- The wheel bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
- All the work should be carried out with the engine switched off.
Replacement: wheel bearing – NISSAN INTERSTAR Platform/Chassis. Take the following steps:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2
Loosen the brake fluid reservoir cap. - Step 3
If you are going to use a jack, secure the wheels with chocks. - Step 4
Loosen the wheel fasteners. Use a 24 mm wheel impact socket. Use a tommy bar. - Step 5Raise the car.Warning!If you are using a jack, make sure the car is parked on a hard, flat surface.Make sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.Step 6
Unscrew the wheel fasteners.Replacement: wheel bearing – NISSAN INTERSTAR Platform/Chassis. Tip:To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the fasteners. - Step 7
Remove the wheel. - Step 8
Clean the brake caliper fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 9
Unscrew the brake caliper fasteners. Use a 19 mm combination spanner. Use a 13 mm socket. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 10
Remove the fastening bolts. - Step 11
Remove the brake caliper. Use a mounting lever.AUTODOC recommendation:Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting it from the brake hose to avoid opening the brake line.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging from the brake hose.Do not press the brake pedal after the caliper has been removed. This may cause the piston to fall out of the caliper bore resulting in the brake fluid leakage and air entering the system. - Step 12
Remove the brake pads. Use a mounting lever. - Step 13
Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 14
Unscrew the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use an 18 mm socket. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 15
Remove the fastening bolts. - Step 16
Remove the brake caliper bracket. - Step 17
Clean the brake disc screw. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 18
Unscrew the brake disc screw. Use a T40 Torx bit. Use a ratchet screwdriver. - Step 19
Remove the screw. - Step 20
Remove the brake disc. - Step 21
Remove the wheel bearing dust cap. Use a mounting lever. Use a hammer. - Step 22
Loosen the wheel hub fastener. Use a 46 mm socket. Use a tommy bar. - Step 23
Unscrew the fastening nut. - Step 24
Remove the wheel hub together with the wheel bearing. - Step 25
Clean the axle of the wheel hub. Use a wire brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 26
Clean the circlip of the wheel hub bearing. Use a wire brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 27
Remove the circlip of the wheel hub bearing. Use circlip pliers. - Step 28
Press the hub out of the bearing. Use a bush and bearing driver set and a hydraulic press. - Step 29
Clean the wheel bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 30
Press the new bearing on the hub. Use a hydraulic press and a bush and bearing driver set.Replacement: wheel bearing – NISSAN INTERSTAR Platform/Chassis. Professionals recommend:When pressing the wheel bearing on, check to make sure it is positioned correctly. Avoid any misalignment.When pressing the wheel bearing on, make sure to press only the outer race of the bearing. - Step 31
Install the circlip of the wheel bearing. Use circlip pliers. - Step 32
Install the hub with the new bearing. - Step 33
Install the fastening nut. - Step 34
Tighten the fastener of the hub. Use a 46 mm socket. Use a torque wrench. Tightening torque: 220 N·m. - Step 35
Install the new wheel bearing dust cap. Use a hammer.
