Replacement: wheel bearing – MAZDA 5 (CW). Tools you might need:

                        Wire brush
                      
                        WD-40 spray
                      
                        Brake cleaner 
                      
                        Copper grease

                        Torque wrench
                      
                        HEX bit no.H7.

                        Ratchet wrench

                        Flat Screwdriver
                      
                        Rubber mallet
                      
                        Wheel chock

Replacement: wheel bearing – MAZDA 5 (CW). Tip from AUTODOC experts:

Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your MAZDA 5 (CW) car.
The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
Please note: all work on the car – MAZDA 5 (CW) – should be done with the engine switched off.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 3

Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.

Step 4

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. MAZDA 5 (CW)
Step 5

Remove the wheel.
Step 6

Detach the brake caliper retaining spring. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 7

Remove the dust boot caps of the brake caliper guide pins. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 8

Clean the brake caliper fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Step 9

Unscrew the brake caliper fastening. Use HEX No.H7. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 10

Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.

Step 11

Remove the brake caliper.

AUTODOC recommends:
Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur. Check the brake caliper bracket, brake caliper guide pins and boots. Clean them. Replace, if necessary.
Step 12

Remove the brake pads.
Step 13

Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Step 14

Unscrew the caliper bracket fastening. Use a drive socket #14. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 15

Remove the fastening bolts (2 pieces).
Step 16

Remove the caliper bracket.

Step 17

Remove the brake disc.
Step 18

Clean the fasteners of the wheel hub bearing. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Step 19.1

Unscrew the hub bearing mounting.

Step 19.2

Use Torx T50. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 20

Remove the fastening bolts.

Step 21

Remove the hub bearing together with the brake disc protection plate. Use a rubber mallet.

Step 22

Detach the ABS sensor connector. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 23

Remove the brake disc cover.

Step 24

Unscrew the ABS sensor fastener. Use a drive socket #6. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 25

Disconnect the ABS sensor.
Step 26

Connect the ABS sensor.
Step 27

Screw in the ABS sensor fastener. Use a drive socket #6. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 5 nm torque.
Step 28

Clean the fasteners of the wheel hub bearing. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 29

Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Step 30

Treat the fasteners of the wheel hub bearing. Use a sealant.
Step 31

Install the brake disc cover.
Step 32

Install the hub bearing together with the brake disc protection plate.

Step 33

Install the fastening bolts.

Step 34.1

Tighten the fastener of the wheel hub bearing.

Step 34.2

Use Torx T50. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 62 nm torque.
Step 35

Treat the ABS sensor connector. Use electronic spray.

Step 36

Attach the ABS sensor connector.
Step 37

Treat the hub where it contacts the brake disk. Use copper grease.
Step 38

Install the brake disc.
Step 39

Clean the brake caliper bracket from dirt and dust. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: wheel bearing – MAZDA 5 (CW). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 40

Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Step 41

Treat the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a sealant.
Step 42

Install the brake caliper bracket.
Step 43

Install the fastening bolts (2 pieces).

Step 44

Tighten the brake caliper bracket. Use a drive socket #14. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 65 Nm torque.
Step 45

Install the brake pads.
Step 46

Install the brake caliper and fix it. Use HEX No.H7. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 30 Nm torque.
Step 47

Install the dust boot caps of the brake caliper guide pins.
Step 48

Install the brake caliper retaining spring. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 49

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 50

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: wheel bearing – MAZDA 5 (CW). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 51

Install the wheel.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts on the car. MAZDA 5 (CW)
Step 52

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 53

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 118 nm torque.
Step 54

Remove the jacks and chocks.
