How to change rear shock absorber on OPEL CORSA S93 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: shock absorbers – Opel Corsa S93. Tip from AUTODOC:
- Both shock absorbers of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right shock absorbers of the rear suspension.
- Please note: all work on the car – Opel Corsa S93 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the boot lid.
- Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
- Step 3Fold down the backrests of the rear seats.
- Step 4Remove the cover of the boot side lining.
- Step 5Remove the protective cap of the shock absorber mount.
- Step 6Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 7Loosen the upper fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #14. Use a shock absorber socket DD№5,2.Replacement: shock absorbers – Opel Corsa S93. AUTODOC recommends:Do not completely unscrew the upper fasteners as they may hold also other suspension components.
- Step 8Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 9Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 10Raise the car.Replacement: shock absorbers – Opel Corsa S93. AUTODOC experts recommend:If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.
- Step 11Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Opel Corsa S93
- Step 12Remove the wheel.
- Step 13Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 14Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 15Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #17.
- Step 16Unscrew the upper fastener of the shock absorber.
- Step 17Remove the fastening bolt.
- Step 18Remove the shock absorber upper mount.Step 19Remove the support from under the rear axle beam.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: shock absorbers – Opel Corsa S93. Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
- Step 20Remove the shock absorber.
- Step 21Clean the shock absorber mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.Replacement: shock absorbers – Opel Corsa S93. Tip from AUTODOC experts:Before installing a new shock absorber you should pump it manually 3-5 times.Make sure to follow the assembly steps in the right order.
- Step 22Place the shock absorber in the wheel arch and fasten it.AUTODOC recommends:Opel Corsa S93 – To avoid injury, hold the shock absorber while screwing in the fastening bolts.
- Step 23Screw in the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #17.
- Step 24Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.Step 25Install the shock absorber upper mount.
