Replacement: ignition coil – SEAT IBIZA V (6J5, 6P5). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- The replacement procedure is the same for the ignition coils of all cylinders.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: ignition coil – SEAT IBIZA V (6J5, 6P5). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3
On the right side, detach the PCV valve hose from the engine cover. - Step 4
Remove the engine cover assembled with the air filter housing.Replacement: ignition coil – SEAT IBIZA V (6J5, 6P5). Tip:Do not apply excessive force when removing the part. Otherwise you may damage it. - Step 5
Cover the throttle body with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system. - Step 6
Take out the ignition coil from the spark plug well. Use a crowbar.AUTODOC recommends:Remember the sequence of steps for ignition coil demounting. - Step 7
Unplug the connectors from the ignition coils. - Step 8
Treat the ignition coil connector with electronic spray. The spray will protect the electrical contacts from corrosion, oxidation, and will reduce the contact resistance. - Step 9
Plug in the connectors of the ignition coils. - Step 10
Install the ignition coils to the spark plug wells. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: ignition coil – SEAT IBIZA V (6J5, 6P5). Follow the installation steps.
