Replacement: ignition coil – MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS Estate (S202). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- The replacement procedure is the same for the ignition coils of all cylinders.
- Please note: all work on the car – MERCEDES-BENZ C-CLASS Estate (S202) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3
Undo the engine cover screws (3 pieces). Use HEX No.HW5. - Step 4
Remove the engine cover. - Step 5
Detach the connector from the ignition coil. - Step 6
Unscrew the ignition coil bracket. Use a drive socket #E8. - Step 7
Take out the ignition coil from the spark plug well. - Step 8
Treat the ignition coil tip. Use high-temperature grease. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 9
Install the new ignition coil to the spark plug well. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.
